Kelly McDermott, CKBD
Designing a home is a very personal experience, which is why Kelly strives to make the process approachable, organized and fun. She is passionate about diving into the details and finds the problem solving aspect of design very rewarding. Her goal is to design functional and beautiful spaces that highlight each clients’ unique style and personality in their home.
Kelly’s work has received numerous awards and publications, including being named to the NKBA’s Thirty Under 30, Class of 2020. She is a Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer and holds a BFA in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Originally from the Twin Cities, Kelly moved to Chicago after falling in love with the city’s unique architecture and historical charm. From the incredible art sprinkled throughout the city to the hot restaurant scene, there is never a lack of inspiration to be found. Kelly currently resides on Chicago’s west side with her German Shepherd puppy, Moose, and is proud to call the Windy City home.
Christina enjoys the variety of the technical and artistic aspects of interior design. From drafting a new interior floor plan to placing that perfect accessory on the shelf, she believes that every step is important and necessary. Her priority is not only to be a trusting guide to her clients but to keep the project organized and on track. One of her favorite parts of a project is selecting furnishings but the most rewarding is seeing how interior design improves her client’s lifestyles by transforming the spaces in which they live. While she appreciates that every client has a unique and different style, she would dreams about living in a classic, colonial home with thick molding, touches of eclecticism, and vibrant pops of color.
